Yesterday, I took a television over to Susie, in the hope that it would cheer her up. She is naturally feeling homesick and very upset. After setting up the TV, I showed her how to use the microwave so that she could get herself a hot meal. There is so much Susie has to learn about caring for herself, and the baby which is due in January.

Once a week, she attends a basic cooking course with other single young mums. I shall try to see her most weeks when visiting Taunton. She knows that she is welcome to spend the day with me in Minehead. Hopefully, she will be able to build bridges with her family and meet up with them regularly. I was pleased, when I spoke to her earlier today, that she sounded brighter and a lot happier.

Now, I have to concentrate on myself, after being told that my transplanted kidney (of 23 years) is starting to fail. The kidney is currently working at 26% capacity. When it reaches 20% plans will be made for dialysis. After having been on dialysis for seven years (twenty-three years ago) I wonder if I can ever cope with going through that again!

Because of my failing health, I have decided to downsize to a flat or bungalow. I sold my place within two days of it going on the market and hope to move first week of November. As yet, I haven't found anywhere in Minehead but I am sure the right place will come up soon.
