There's never a dull moment in my life - most days I get an adrenalin rush!

Jamie quit the hospital in London a few weeks ago, after problems regarding her methadone. The staff were not trained to administer this medication correctly, which caused her great distress.. Whilst in hospital, Jamie was officially diagnosed as suffering from Bi-Polar Disorder. She also managed to reduce her methadone in there.

During Jamie's recent stay with me, she was an absolute nightmare: either very hyper, when I couldn't get a word in edgeways, or asleep. She was awake only 4/5 hours in every 24 hours.

I contacted her doctor last week because I was so concerned. I reminded the doctor that, even though Jamie was diagnosed with Hepatitis C many years ago, she has had no checks whatsoever, nor has she seen a specialist in seven years. Her doctor immediately arranged for a series of blood tests..

Results have come back showing that Jamie has a liver problem. This doesn't surprise me since Hepatitis C usually affects the liver. Arrangements have been made, via Jamie's drug worker, for her to see a Hepatitis nurse. She also hopes to see a Hepatitis specialist shortly. Apparently, new treatments have become available over the past few years which were not around when Jamie was originally diagnosed with Geno Type 1 Hepatitis - a form of the illness which was untreatable.

Before going into hospital in April, Jamie was on 135ml. of methadone a day. She has reduced this to 95ml a day, and continues to reduce by 3.5mls weekly. This will enable her to go for a final detox in hospital before February next year.
